For the past several years, I have been fortunate enough to travel across the USA in my job as Corporate Trainer. I've gone to the places I had previously only read about or saw on television or in movies. I have gained a new perspective on my county, her people, and myself. I have been very lucky indeed.

I feel in my heart that it's time for a change. I don't have the drive or desire to continue on this journey. I'm tired and my health has declined to the point that I just want to rest up and take it easy. It has been a tough choice for me. I love traveling around documenting in pictures what I have seen. I always try to find the interesting places and items as I travel. Hopefully, I have succeeded in my efforts.

On my many travels, I discovered a true love for California. I never understood why so many people live there. It is just another place, right?

No way. It is a place that can not be described. It must be experienced. This past fall alone, I traveled to California twice. Both times I drove almost the entire state. It is amazing.

In the northern areas you find rolling hills, in the center you have Yosemite, King's Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks. Towards the south is the Mojave and Death Valley desserts. You can't believe the view from the Pacific Coast Highway. The Pacific Ocean is so beautiful.

And then you have San Francisco. Of all of the places I have visited, it is my favorite. It is unlike any other place I have ever been. It is beautiful. The sights and sounds are wonderful. The Golden Gate. Alcatraz. The curviest road in the world. Chinatown. Heck, even the Mythbusters are there, and I went to their office.

And then there is the area just across the golden Gate Bridge. The Marin Headlands.

This photo was taken there, right next to where the bay meets the Pacific. You begin on top of the hill overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and wind your way down and around the ocean. Amanda and I sat on a park bench and just watched the waves and boats going by, smelling the eucalyptus. It's a sight and smell I'll never forget. I forgot all of my troubles and the world melted away. I wish I could have sat there forever. It was that good. Special.

For me, times they are a changin'. But I lived so many dreams in so short a period of time. And I wouldn't change a thing.
