I have always been a dreamer. I have always been a huge fan of the movies. My favorite movie is the original Star Wars from 1977. I saw if around twenty times the first summer it came out.

I lived and breathed that movie and the two that followed for almost ten years. I learned about special effects because of Star Wars. I learned about a company called Industrial Light and Magic, the effects company started by George Lucas to create the effects for his movies.

So what does all of this have to do with this image? I'll tell you.

As the credits roll at the end of the movies, I stay and look to find out what company did the effects. I noticed early on that the effects I liked best were done by ILM. They always list it as "Effects by Industrial Light and Magic - Marin County, California."

Marin County seemed to me to be a land of magic. I dreamed that one day I would be able to go there and see for myself. I always figured it would be a dream because I never really thought I'd get to go there.

Imagine now, those dreams of an eleven year old boy coming true. I finally got to go. I didn't realy get to explore the area like I wanted, but at least I got a taste of how it felt to live out a dream.

I wasn't disappointed either. Standing there on the Golden Gate Bridge and seeing that sign was... wow! I loved it.

I'm sure the picture probably just looks like a couple of ordinary signs to you, but to me, well I lived out a dream.

I may not be eleven anymore, but this forty-four year old man still got a kick out of taking this picture. Every time I look at it, I don't just see a sign. I live a dream.

Thanks for letting me share it with you.
