| Back in the day, way back when I was a little kid, we used to go riding around on Sunday afternoons in the country. One of the places we often went was Owl's Hollow (known locally as (Al's Holler). Driving around out there used to be a scary prospect. You see, the old road was dirt and narrow and the hollow itself had a dubious reputation at best. It was Dark, foreboding and scary, so naturally there was a church there. Now in all fairness, the people that live there love living there. Warts and all. It is an extremely scenic drive, especially when fall has changed the leaves from green to magnificent. I digress. As I was saying, when I was a kid, this church was fully functioning. I never went there to visit so I have no idea what it is like inside. I would have gone closer today, but the brother of the person that owed it came down to ask me what I was up to. He was a pretty nice fellow though and we taked for about thirty minutes about the way everything out that way used to be. To close, it was always pretty creep to me and you know what, things haven't changed a bit. I would like to go back out there soon and take a closer look around. Wanna go? |
