If you take the time to search out interesting things you will surely be rewarded beyond imagination. Such is the case for me with my exploration of Hoover Dam.

Since I have been there on three separate occasions, I have been afforded the chance to look deeper for those unusual objects that one misses the first time one walks the area on top of the dam. Most people will actually see the object in this image. I mean, how could you miss the feet of a thirty foot tall statue? Turns out it is pretty easy.

There are two statues on the dam and they are beautiful works of art. Through time, they have become tarnished by the elements, all except their feet, which are constantly being polished by the tourists' hands rubbing the toes.

In fact, it is a local legend for the locals that rubbing the feet brings good luck. What could be better when you are twenty miles from Las Vegas?
