| My best friend Chris (whose great photography websites can be reached by clicking the "About" link at the top right hand corner of this page) proudly served his country as a member of the Coast Guard. He joined just before mt daughter Amanda was born and returned a few years later as a changed man. He had seen the world from the viewpoint of the world's seas and oceans. He was proud to serve and so it is here that I honor him for his commitment. On the Marin County side of the Golden Gate Bridge in a monument to the Coast Guard. I had seen it and decided to grab a shot of it for Chris. Funny thing was I never really looked at it up close. When I went to show him the plaque, I saw how beautiful it was. This image is a crop of just the marker on the monument. Please take a moment to look at how the sculpture forces your eye to move from point to point. You just have to look at everything. That is the mark of a true artist. So it is with honor to the men and women of the United States Coast Guard, and especially my buddy Chris, that I post this image. Thank you all for your service. |
