| I took the summer off from photography and posting new images because I needed a break. If you visit this site frequently, then you know I spend a lot of time on the road. I travel with a fully loaded set of camera equipment in addition to all of my work-related gear. It just got to the point where I was tired of the hassle. Last summer, I lost one of my Canon cameras (my 40D) to the fine folks at Southwest Airlines. I had to revert back to the 20D for most of my shots since then. When I went to Las Vegas, Death Valley, and California this past summer, I borrowed my good friend Jason's 40D to use on the trip. I didn't want to pass up the chance to get some great images and not be able to make enlargements if I wanted to. I am now ready to begin posting new images again, but before that can happen, I needed to get some of the better ones from my previous trips posted. This is a new image to the site, but it was taken back in June while I spent time in Yosemite. I wish I could begin to describe the view I had from this point. It was amazing. Just beyond the crest of the cliff I am standing on, not more than five feet in front of me, is a sheer drop off of several thousand feet. Straight down. It was unlike anything I have ever experienced before. And such beauty. A picture doesn't even begin to tell the story. I can't wait to get back. National Parks rule!! In closing, I wanted to alert you that there will be new postings coming in the days that follow. I hope you continue to stop by and see what I am getting into next. Thanks for your continued support. JIM |
