| I'm sure that the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has to be one of the most photographed objects in the world. But I wanted to photograph it. In fact, I have wanted to so badly for the past few years that it has become an obsession. I have planned several trips that have fallen through for one reason or another but I was determined to make it this year or die trying. So, I was recently working in Las Vegas and thought it would be the perfect time to go. I arranged for a couple of days off of work and made the trip from Vegas. Problem is, how do you capture an image that isn't like all of the others you have seen. I pretty much decided that you can't. It's been covered from every angle in the past seventy years. So I did the next best thing. I used the part of the bridge as the subject. The hillside where I grabbed this shot is about a mile from Baker Beach, on a trail that leads from the beach up the side of a cliff and to the road above. The wild flowers were in bloom and beautiful and the bridge just makes the picture for me. By the way, I spent all day taking pictures of this great landmark. I'll post a few soon if I find a good fit. |
