| When I was a kid, I couldn't wait for spring and the return of the fair. They always held it at the Agricola Shopping Center, which was located very near to the house my family lived in when I was young. I could see them from my front porch as they put up the rids and attractions and that only added to my excitement. Oh, and at night the whole place seemed to come alive with lights and sounds. It all seemed so big to me. They no longer have an annual fair at the Agricola Shopping Center. That area is a little too "rough" these days. Now they have it in the parking lot of the Gadsden Mall. I went down there tonight to grab a few shots. I don't know if it is me or reality, but the fair just doesn't seem to hold up these days. Almost no people were there and there was definitely no magic in the air. I guess the days of the fair being a big deal is long past. But for a minute, it was bug again in my mind. |
