Today I visited the "Haunted Church" near Gadsden Alabama. The last time I was there, it was so creepy I didn't stay long. The road was very rough and had grown up so much you would need a truck to get there.

Not so, today. The road was smooth and I easily made it in my Camry.

Time is slowly erasing the memory of the Haunted Church. The church itself was burned down long ago. The foundation was all that was left. Now, directly under what would have been the door to the church, is a recent grave. In twenty years time, I doubt there will be much left of the church except the stories of now grown teenagers that wanted a good scare and were never let down by a midnight visit to these grounds.

Somewhere down inside me, I wish it weren't so. I wish all of the great places I visited growing up could just stay the same, a testament to a time gone by. But I know that won't happen. That is why we have stories and pictures, to insure that nothing important is ever really forgotten, just lying in wait to be re-discovered again.

So what does all of this have to do with today's posting? This spider's web was the last image I took before leaving the Haunted Church.
