| Books have been written about the famous "See Rock City" barns. At one time, they were spread across America, from the East Coast to the West Coast and many points in between. They are an important part of Americana. Fortunately, this one is pretty near my home in Reece City. It is located right on Highway 11, right near the Dekalb county line. (I'm telling you Alabama Photographers, get on Highway 11 in Birmingham and drive til you get to Tennessee. It will be the best two hours or so you're likely to get photography wise.) There aren't many of these left anymore, I don't believe. I have traveled all over and I have only seen one other "Rock City" barn. It was a new one though, so maybe they are bringing them back. By the way, I have been to Rock City a few times. It is well worth the trip. The view from the top is great. Nearby is Ruby Falls. Not so good. Don't say I didn't tell you. Nearby Chattanooga is one of the best cities in the USA. Big River Brewing is worth the trip alone. Good food and great beer. The ChooChoo is a must see as well. |
